Install NotiSpark for your whole office
With NotiSpark Business you can install the app on every computer at once, quietly, and link it to your company. Each person then signs in with their own NotiSpark account and finds their email, signature and rules ready.
Before you start
You need NotiSpark Business. On notispark.com, open Account › Team setup: choose your company settings and make a company code under Company codes. The code looks like ABCD-EFGH-JKLM-NPQR.
Download the MSI package (NotiSpark-…-x64.msi) from the Download page. It installs NotiSpark for every user of the computer, in Program Files.
Install quietly on one computer
Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
msiexec /i NotiSpark-1.0.0-x64.msi /qn TEAM_CODE=ABCD-EFGH-JKLM-NPQR
Use your own file name and company code. /qn installs without any windows. Leave out TEAM_CODE to install without linking the computer to your company.
Microsoft Intune
- In the Intune admin center: Apps › Windows › Add › Line-of-business app, and upload the MSI.
- Under App information, set Command-line arguments to TEAM_CODE=ABCD-EFGH-JKLM-NPQR (your code).
- Assign it to your devices or groups as Required. Intune installs it quietly for the whole computer.
Group Policy
Group Policy software installation can't pass the company code on the command line. Install the MSI as usual (Computer Configuration › Policies › Software Settings › Software installation), and give the code with a registry setting instead:
Computer Configuration › Preferences › Windows Settings › Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\NotiSpark\Mail, value TeamCode (text) = your code.
Settings IT can turn on
NotiSpark reads these values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\NotiSpark\Mail. People can't change them in the app:
TeamCode (text): your company code. It always wins over the one given at install.
DisableUpdates (number, 1): NotiSpark doesn't download updates; you roll out new versions yourself.
DisableAddons (number, 1): no add-ons can be installed or run.
Updates
A computer installed with the MSI doesn't update itself, because it is installed for all users in Program Files. When a new version comes out, deploy the new MSI the same way: it replaces the old one and keeps everyone's settings and mail.
What people do
- They open NotiSpark and sign in with their own NotiSpark account (or accept your invitation by email first).
- NotiSpark shows “Your company set things up for you” and joins your team with the company code.
- They type only their own email password, or use the normal Google or Microsoft sign-in. Nobody else ever sees it, not even NotiSpark.
Uninstall
msiexec /x NotiSpark-1.0.0-x64.msi /qn removes the app from the computer. Each person's mail stays on your mail server, and their settings stay in their Windows profile.
Offices with Linux
Install the .deb package as usual (for example sudo apt install ./NotiSpark-1.0.0-amd64.deb). To link the computer to your company, create the file /etc/notispark/policy.json with:
{"teamCode": "ABCD-EFGH-JKLM-NPQR", "disableUpdates": false, "disableAddons": false}
